Circular, simple book about life in the forest starting and ending with an acorn. The illustrations are lovely.

The circle of life, somewhat cryptically examined through mixed media illustrations and very few words. I was initially excited to see the topic addressed for children, but this book will definitely need some more mature interpretation to explain The Acorn> tree> bird> seed> flower> fruit> chipmunk>snake>hawk>acorn process.

Just as it only takes a spark to kindle a fire, it only takes a small acorn to grow a tree, which provides a nest for a bird as it thrives. The first and last pages have die-cuts that add to the book's appeal and its gentle reminder of the cycle of life and how every living thing relies on something else in order to grow and thrive.
